As a kid, Rugilo practiced Tae Kwon Do at Kum Sung in Silverton. As a young adult, she fell in love with Boxing & Judo, at the Brick PAL.
In 2001, she was looking for “Real Kickboxing” and started training at Toms River’s 1st Muay Thai school, ran by Kru James Wellington. From the 1st class, she was hooked. Her long journey, and love for Martial Arts, would give her the opportunity to train with some of the best in the industry; Bernie D’ Zurella, Kru Phil Nurse, Ajarn Eric Colon, Darren “Checkmate” Maciunski, Wantuir Spenciere, Talles Horta, Brian Blue & many more.
After years of training, Rugilo decided to test her skills in the ring. The plan was to take 1 or 2 fights, so she would be a better fight coach.
Today, she has 17 Muay Thai bouts with a record of 12-4-1 and 3 BJJ wins.
In 2011, Rugilo became the First Female Champ at Madison Square Garden.
She is First Muay Thai fighter to have a First Round TKO at Bally’s Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.
In addition, to her own successful fight career, Rugilo has trained many fighters towards their own victories and personal accomplishments.
In 2009, after many years of being the only-girl on the mats. She recognized there was a need for Martial Arts & Self Defense program for women, by a woman. She opened the world’s First all-female Martial Arts & Self-Defense program for women, Girl Fight.
In 2012, Rugilo was inducted into the N.J. Martial Arts Hall of Fame,
as Muay Thai Fighter of the Year.
In 2016, Rugilo was awarded the “Pal of the Year” award by the Brick Police Athletic League for going above & beyond to support the community.
In 2018, Rugilo was blessed with a son. Which changed the game!
